Horses, Hiking, & Shared Outdoor Space

Outdoors is just another room here in Nosara Community – a very large one!

Residents and vacationers at Nosara Community will be able to get out and embrace, experience, and enjoy nature on a number of different levels. Sure, there’s the Pacific Ocean and the gorgeous Nosara beaches, but, there’s a lot more to be experienced just outside your front door.

Our community will keep as much of the natural landscape in tact as possible. Only 9% of the site will be available for
housing. The rest is for everyone to enjoy – including our abundant variety of plants, animals, reptiles, and birds.

We’ll celebrate Mother Nature with winding hiking trails that lead to our 10 waterfalls. Horses will be stabled in the community for equestrians. And we’ll feature public gathering areas where residents of all ages can congregate casually for a family picnic or a snooze in the shade. $1,000,000 is budgeted for community infrastructure.

Yoga and Wellness Center

Cultivate a healthy body, tranquil mind, open heart, and vibrant spirit. Discover yourself.

Health, nature, wellness, and spirituality are cornerstones at Nosara Community. For centuries the physical and spiritual practice of yoga has allowed people to improve their general wellness by relieving stress, improving
physical condition, achieving mental stability, and boosting their emotional health.

Our Yoga and Wellness Center will be a key Nosara Community component where you’ll be able to enjoy the practice of yoga, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced yogi.

Our yoga instructors will tailor classes to your level of skill and physical ability. Special yoga classes for children and the elderly will be available so that the entire family can maintain or develop a healthy body, a clear mind, and a
peaceful spirit.

Community Garden, Farm, & Food Exchange

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” — Audrey Hepburn

One of Nosara Community’s sustainability tenets is that it will strive to produce as much of its own food as possible.

Our community permaculture guidelines will allow residents to grow and raise food in harmony with the surrounding natural ecosystems.

Everyone will have the opportunity to grow their own garden. They may even raise a few chickens or goats! When your favorite fruit or vegetable ripens, you’ll have the opportunity to trade your harvest for something in our shared community garden, or directly with other residents.

Let’s not leave the animals out. We’ll also be raising cows, goats, chickens, and ducks for their milk and eggs. Their organic manure will be used as fertilizer, and to increase the growth of micro-organisms in order to build rich and productive soil.

Commercial Center

nowherOff-the-beaten-path but with local commercial conveniences.

One of the virtues of living in Nosara Community is it’s location. It’s close enough to the beaches and the towns of Nosara and Guiones, but far enough away so that the community is quiet, private, and in the midst of lush, tropical dry forest largely left wild.

So we’ve planned our own small commercial center where people can buy groceries at the mini-super, pick up overthe-counter drugs, and find some basic home and hardware supplies so that the “outside world” still feels close-by, yet far enough away.

Special deliveries will be no problem. They can be dropped off at the commercial center and picked up by residents at their convenience.

It’s all part of life in Nosara Community. A place that offers its residents a sustainable lifestyle shared by like-minded people that’s on the edge of it all and in the middle of nowhere.

Nosara is a little off-the-beaten-path – and most people will tell you they like it that way.”
The Nosara region of Guanacaste consists of five beach towns: Playa Nosara, Playa Guiones, Playa Garza, Playa Pelada, and Playa Ostional. The actual town center of “Nosara town” lies inland about five miles and is where much of the Tico population resides. Most of the hotels, yoga retreats, restaurants, cafés, and surf shops are located in Playa Guiones, making it the most popular spot with expats, as well as with foreign and national tourists alike.

The area is situated about half the way down the west coast of the Nicoya Peninsula. It borders el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Ostional (“Ostional Wildlife Refuge”). Ostional is famous for its arribadas (“mass nesting events”) of olive ridley and leatherback sea turtles, and is one of the largest olive ridley nesting sites in the world. It’s frequently at the top of everyone’s bucket list for Costa Rica. nosara real estate
